First Lady Remi Tinubu has suggested that any kidnapper caught by the police should face the death penalty.

She made this statement in response to the kidnapping of more than 200 schoolchildren in Kaduna on Thursday, March 7.

Referring to the kidnappers as “animals,”  the former senator mentioned that parents, especially mothers of abducted schoolchildren, experience immense heartache because of the actions of the kidnappers.

“Whoever is kidnapping young schoolchildren is sick, cruel, and a coward. Enough is enough. I call on the state governors that once we take hold of them, they deserve capital punishment,” she said.

“Why don’t they take people their size? Why are they taking innocent schoolchildren? They’re trying to kill our future because when we’re old, we rely on our children.

”They [kidnappers] are animals; they’re evil and we should take them out of our midst,” she added.
