Mohamed Salah shined in his comeback game as Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to five points with a convincing 4-1 win against Brentford.

The away team took the lead in the 35th minute when Darwin Nunez capitalized on a great header from Diogo Jota to delicately chip the ball over Mark Flekken for his 13th goal of the season.

Alexis Mac Allister then doubled the lead in the 55th minute after receiving a pass from Salah, who came on as a substitute in the first half, and slotted a low shot into the corner.

Salah returned from a hamstring injury, scored a goal, and provided an assist in the match. He chased after Cody Gakpo’s pass and scored his 19th goal of the season.

Ivan Toney scored for his team, but Gakpo sealed Liverpool’s victory with a goal late in the game. Despite facing a tough opponent, Liverpool managed to secure a good result.

However, Jurgen Klopp faced some setbacks as Curtis Jones and Jota had to leave the field due to injuries in the first half. This adds to the list of players already sidelined ahead of the League Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday.

As a result, Liverpool will end the weekend at the top of the table. However, Manchester City and Arsenal have the opportunity to narrow the gap when they play later on Saturday.

Liverpool’s next match is against Luton at Anfield on Wednesday night, while Brentford will visit Man City on Tuesday.
