Nigerian singer Portable has revealed that his music studio in Ogun State was robbed on Saturday.
In a series of videos shared online, Portable, who is currently abroad, revealed that the burglars gained entry into his music studio in Sango-Ota by breaking through one of its windows.
Portable also claimed that valuable items and studio equipment worth millions of naira were stolen during the incident.
Speaking in a mixture of Pidgin English and English, Portable expressed his frustration, noting that this was the second time his studio had been targeted.
“Trust nobody. Always keep your valuables with you when you go out. They’ve been trying to target me for a long time,” he cautioned in the video.
“They’ve been eyeing that studio for a while now. They wanted to break into my studio, and they succeeded. But thank God. Their desperation led them astray. They asked me for help, yet they still stole from me. It’s people close to me,” he lamented.
“They thought they could deceive me. But within three days, I’ve already recovered the money I used to buy equipment for the studio. They stole a sound card, mixer, TV, PS5 game, and other equipment. But they cannot stop my success. This is the second time they’ve targeted my studio. They wore all black. Thank God nobody was harmed at my studio. Thank God nobody was killed. I have many people I’ve signed. I’m not a producer; I just use the studio to help people,” he emphasized.
“It’s people around me who did it. When the police arrived, I told them not to arrest anyone; let their conscience judge them. This is the same Zeh Nation studio that we are using to promote all of you,” he concluded solemnly.
