The national chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Barrister Julius Abure, has been arrested by the Nigerian Police.
Abure was apprehended in Benin City, Edo State, on Wednesday.
The reason for his arrest is not clear, but it is believed to be connected to the party’s internal crisis.
Abure has been under fire for allegedly misusing Party funds amounting to over N3 billion.
The party’s National Treasurer, Oluchi Opara, accused Abure of misappropriating N3.5 billion generated from the sale of nomination forms and other activities for the 2023 general election.
