The Olympic Games in 2024 will be the apex of football for Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre, according to her disclosure.
Remember that the Nigerian national team participated in the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023 and the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, when they were nearly defeated by England in the round of 16 in penalties shootouts.
But Plumptre revealed in an interview with Arab News how much she really wanted to compete in the next Olympics.
Sure, that would be the apex of my professional life. The mere thought of the Olympics brings a grin to Plumptre’s face, the Saudi player for Al Ittihad told Arab News.
“I’m a people-pleaser, and at school, human biology was my only subject of interest. I was simply enthralled by the human form. I adore the Olympics; therefore, when I was younger, I wanted to be a doctor on an Olympic team.
The former defender for Leicester City also talked about her time at the most recent World Cup, which was co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
“I will always treasure that crazy, crazy experience,” the speaker said. For the rest of my life, I want to remember this,” she continued.
