Nigerian singer Ugbekile David Osemeke, also known as Boy Spyce, has spoken out in support of his female colleague Simi in light of recent criticisms she has received from music fans on social media.

Recently, Simi has faced criticism from fans who believe she should change her voice because they find it monotonous.

Responding to the backlash, Boy Spyce revealed that he is actually inspired by Simi and is currently writing a song influenced by her.

He emphasised that critics underestimate the full extent of her talent.

On his X handle, the Mavin Records artist wrote: “Writing a ballad song in my car and jamming Simi’s Simisola album for inspo … Omo y’all don’t realize how talented that woman is!”
