Nicki Minaj has set a new record for the highest-grossing tour by a female rapper in history.
According to the American statistics company Touring Data, the Trinidadian hip-hop star broke the record for the highest-grossing concert by a female rapper with $2.858 million at Madison Square Garden in New York on March 30, 2024.
Her ‘Pink Friday 2’ tour has now become the most successful tour by a female rapper, making $34.9 million from 220,000 tickets sold in the first 17 shows.
“@NICKIMINAJ’s ‘Pink Friday 2’ officially becomes the most successful tour by a female rapper in history, with $34.9 million from 220,000 tickets sold in its first 17 shows,” Touring Data tweeted.
She has earned $34.9 million from only 30% of the tour so far, and it is expected that she will reach $100 million by the end of the tour later this year.
Previously, the “Queen of Rap” mentioned that she might consider adding Nigeria to her ‘Pink Friday 2’ tour if there is enough interest from fans, after a Nigerian fan expressed disappointment at the absence of Africa from her tour locations.
It is still uncertain whether Nigeria or any other African country will be included in the tour.
