Messi Wins Third FIFA Best Men’s Player Award

Messi, who recently won the 2022 World Cup with Argentina, was unable to help Inter Miami secure their first club trophy in history.

The 36-year-old Argentine, Lionel Messi, received the individual honour at the award ceremony in London on Monday night.

He was chosen over Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé.

This is Messi’s third FIFA Best Award, with previous wins in 2019 and 2022, making him the first player to achieve this milestone. However, Messi was not present at the ceremony as he is currently on a pre-season tour with his club, Inter Miami.

Messi, who recently won the 2022 World Cup with Argentina, was unable to help Inter Miami secure their first club trophy in history.

Additionally, Pep Guardiola was named the men’s coach of the year for leading Manchester City to a treble.

Furthermore, six players from Manchester City were included in the Best XI.
