Paris Saint Germain’s manager, Luis Enrique, emphasized that the team will need to adjust to playing without their star player, Kylian Mbappe.
Kylian Mbappe has been the key player for the team ever since Neymar and Lionel Messi left last summer.
On the field, Mbappe has been the most influential player for the team over the past four seasons.
Unfortunately, the 25-year-old French striker has chosen not to renew his contract with the team despite their efforts to keep him.
Mbappe has officially notified PSG that he will depart the team at the end of the season as a free agent, as his current contract expires on June 30, 2024.
This means that PSG, who spent over €180 million to acquire Mbappe from Monaco in 2018, will not receive any transfer fee when he leaves the team this summer.
Even though Mbappe is set to leave PSG, coach Enrique continued to utilize him in games. However, on Sunday, February 25, the Spanish coach surprised many fans by substituting Mbappe with Gonçalo Ramos in the 65th minute while the team was losing 1-0 to Rennes in the Ligue 1.
Surprisingly, Ramos managed to score the tying goal in the 97th minute, resulting in a 1-1 draw for the league game.
