Senator Okechukwu Ezea, who represents Enugu North on the Labour Party platform, has refuted claims that he received any relief materials, whether food or financial, from President Bola Tinubu for distribution to his constituents.

The speculations in the media suggest that lawmakers have benefited from government support packages.

“I want to categorically state that I have not received any material palliative, neither money nor food items, from the federal government for my constituents,” Senator Ezea said in a statement released on Monday.

He pledged to “share such palliatives transparently, in line with my principle of equity and fairness.”

The statement added, “Given the enormity of hardship faced by my constituents, I, at my cost, have gone ahead to distribute bags of rice in the new year across the 102 wards of my district.

‘’The distribution has been concluded at the local government level, while sharing of the items to the beneficiaries is currently ongoing across the ward.’’
