Liverpool’s chances of winning the Premier League took a hit when they lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace at Anfield.

The Reds had the opportunity to move back to the top of the league, but Eberechi Eze’s goal in the first half secured a crucial win for Palace, putting them eight points above the relegation zone.

Despite never winning in their previous 13 encounters with Liverpool, Palace got off to a strong start and took the lead in the 14th minute when Tyrick Mitchell set up Eze for an easy goal past Alisson.

The Eagles came close to increasing their lead when Virgil van Dijk slipped, allowing Jean-Philippe Mateta to almost score, but Andrew Robertson made a great clearance off the line.

Liverpool tried to respond, with Wataru Endo hitting the crossbar and Luis Diaz’s acrobatic shot being saved by Dean Henderson. Henderson also blocked a strong shot from Darwin Nunez.

In the second half, Liverpool dominated the game but couldn’t score the equalizer.

Nathaniel Clyne and Mitchell stopped Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah’s shots on the line, while Curtis Jones missed a great opportunity to score as Liverpool’s chances of winning the Premier League title slipped away.
