The lifeless body of a young man was discovered on a refuse dump in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, on Sunday morning.
The victim, believed to be between 20 and 25 years old, showed signs of brutalization, suggesting a possible clash between cult groups.
The disturbing incident took place near Iorpuu Adai Street, Nyiman Layout, HUDCO quarters in Makurdi. The young man’s hands were tied behind his back, and he was missing one ear.
His attackers callously placed his body in a sack before dumping it on the refuse heap. Worshipers stumbled upon the shocking scene while on their way to the morning service on Sunday.
The police have not been notified of the incident yet, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the young man’s death have not yet begun.
