Residents in Katsina have been actively responding to the request for information about two notorious bandit leaders, Modi Modi and Jan Kare, after the Katsina State Police Command offered a reward of N50 million.
The police issued a special bulletin asking citizens to provide valuable information that could lead to the capture of these criminals operating in Kankara and Safana Local Government Areas.
Since the announcement, residents have been providing credible information, showing their willingness to help improve security in the state.
The Katsina State Police Command has thanked the community for their overwhelming response and recognized the importance of citizen involvement in fighting crime.
The police spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, stated that the command is actively reviewing the information received to identify leads that could help apprehend the wanted criminals.
“We have been receiving an avalanche of information from the people on the two bandits kingpins and even criminals generally in the state since our bulletin was out.
“The command is very appreciative of the people’s response. But, you know, we must sieve through the information to bring out the one that will lead to the arrest of the bandit kingpins.
“We are encouraged by peoples’ response and the command will implore them to keep on sending information not only on the two bandits kingpins but on criminals generally in the state so that the state would be rid of the criminals,” he told Punch.
