Former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, is warning people in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, not to loot government warehouses.

Allub Times reports that FCT residents broke into the Agric Department Strategic food store in Tasha, Abuja, and stole food and other items.

The FCT Police Command has arrested 15 suspects and recovered some of the stolen goods.

There was also an attempted break-in at a factory warehouse in the Idu Industrial District, Jabi, Abuja on the same day.

Senator Shehu, in a post on his verified social media account, is urging residents to stop this behavior.

He wrote, “My dear Abuja residents, why did you invade and loot the Government food warehouse. Don’t repeat it please.”

Many Nigerians are turning to looting government warehouses due to the economic difficulties facing the country.
