The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has named former Supreme Court Judge, Hon. Justice Mary Odili (Rtd.), as the Pro-chancellor of the Rivers State University (RSU).
Additionally, Fubara appointed ex-Super Eagles player Adokiye Amiesemaka as the Pro-chancellor of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) in Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt.
These appointments were announced in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, in Port Harcourt on Monday.
According to the statement, Hon. Justice Mary Odili (Rtd) would also serve as Chairman of the reconstituted governing council of the Rivers State University (RSU), while Barr. Mela Oforibika, Chukwuma Chinwo, Esq., Adata Bio-Briggs, Esq., Dr Jonathan Nimi Hart, Ngo Martins-Yellowe, Dr Robinson N. Ewoh, Dr Nancy Nwankwo, Dr Igoni William-Park and Mr Ogbugbu Samuel Barisua would serve as members.
Meanwhile, Chief Adokiye Amiesemaka would also serve as the Chairman of the governing council, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, while Dr. Iboh Okidim, Prof. Jason Osai, Prof. Ijeoma Akpu, Dr. Akabue Ugochukwu, Mrs. Mmeme Gogo-Adiari and Hon. Dominic Sata would serve as members.
The statement mentioned that the appointments are effective immediately.
