Former Head Coach of Nigeria’s U-17 male national team, the Golden Eaglets, Sebastine Brodericks, has passed away.

According to his wife, he died early this morning after battling illness for one year. Brodericks was the coach when Nigeria won the first FIFA/Kodak U-16 World Cup in China in 1985 and a Silver medal in 1987 in Canada.

He led a three-man crew, including Bala Shamaki and Christian Chukwu, when the Nigerian team surprised the world in China in 1985.
