The repair work on the Third Mainland Bridge will start again today, Thursday, according to a statement from Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State.
Kesha acknowledged that the traffic diversions may cause inconvenience to drivers and asked for the public’s cooperation.
She clarified that the diversions are essential to allow the contractor to continue with the thorough maintenance work.
“This is to allow for timely completion of works on all sections of the bridge and to also ensure speedy hand-over of a newly-rehabilitated bridge to the motoring public with better comfort and smoother riding surfaces,” Kesha said.
She said that the traffic rerouting would continue during the repair period. She encouraged drivers to cooperate with traffic authorities and carefully plan their trips.
