Darwin Nunez scored two impressive goals as Liverpool dominated their UEFA Europa League last-16 match against Sparta Prague with a 5-1 victory.

Despite the upcoming important Premier League match against Manchester City on Sunday, Jurgen Klopp chose a strong lineup.

The team quickly took the lead with a penalty from Alexis Mac Allister in just six minutes. Nunez then scored the 1000th goal of Klopp’s tenure with a beautiful curling shot at the 25-minute mark, followed by an even better 20-yard volley from the Uruguayan just before halftime.

Sparta had many opportunities to score, but Caoimhín Kelleher made some great saves. However, substitute Conor Bradley accidentally scored an own goal right after the game resumed.

Luis Diaz scored a deflected goal to give Liverpool a three-goal lead. Mo Salah came in as a substitute after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Unfortunately, Ibrahima Konate had to leave the game due to a possible injury, which was the only downside to Liverpool’s otherwise great performance.

Dominik Szoboszlai scored a fifth goal in stoppage time, putting Liverpool in a good position for the next game at Anfield.
