Emeka Ihedioha, the former Governor of Imo State, paid a visit to the current Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, on Sunday.

The meeting took place at Governor Otti’s residence in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South.

It is important to note that Governor Otti is the only Labour Party governor in the South East region and the entire country.

During his private visit, Ihedioha, who is also the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, was warmly welcomed by his host.

According to a source from Government House quoted by Vanguard, the two leaders later had a private meeting.

Although the details of their discussion were not revealed, experts believe it may be about the political situation in Imo State and the possibility of Chief Ihedioha joining the Labour Party.

It is worth mentioning that Ihedioha recently left the PDP last week due to the controversy surrounding the position of the National Secretary within the party.

Confirming his meeting with Otti, Ihedioha, in a post via his X handle, wrote: “Delighted to have met with my esteemed brother and friend, Governor @alexottiofr, at his residence in Isialangwa.

“We had a convivial discussion, even as I commend his giant strides in Abia State.”

Ihedioha officially resigned from the PDP last week, having been a member of the party since 1998 and having played a significant role in its growth.

The former governor is disappointed with recent changes in the PDP, believing that it has strayed from its original values. Ihedioha is also worried about the party’s lack of internal reforms, its failure to follow its own rules, and its inability to effectively challenge the ruling APC.
