Former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, recently paid a visit to the former military Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, at his residence in Abuja.
This meeting took place shortly after El-Rufai met with leaders of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the second time, sparking rumors that he may be considering leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC).
During his visit to Senator Abubakar Gada’s residence in Abuja, El-Rufai was joined by SDP chairman Shehu Musa Gabam and other party leaders, as well as Senator Teslim Folarin, the APC gubernatorial candidate for Oyo State in the upcoming 2023 general elections, and Senator Nazif Suleiman, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Bauchi State.
Prior to this meeting, El-Rufai had hosted a Ramadan iftar at his Abuja residence, attended by individuals such as the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, and Shehu Musa Gabam.
El-Rufai also made a visit to Gabam at the SDP secretariat.
