In desperation for what to eat as a result of the economic hardship triggered by President Bola Tinubu-led government policies, some residents of the Federal Capital Territory reportedly looted a warehouse owned by the National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria (NEMA) on Sunday.

The warehouse is located in the Phase 3 Region of Abuja, in the FCT area.

Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT command, confirmed the incident, saying, “The situation is now under control.”

It is worth noting that human rights groups, such as the Joint Action Front and the Coalition for Revolution, recently protested in Lagos State against the high cost of food and living expenses in the country.
