The coroner in charge of the Sylvester Oromoni case, Mikhail Kadiri, has stated that Dowen College and its students are not to blame for the tragic death of the late student.

After a two-year investigation and a six-hour court session in Lagos‘ Ogba area, Kadiri determined that Oromoni passed away due to sepsis caused by infections in his lungs and kidneys from an ankle injury.

Although parental and medical neglect played a role, Dowen College and its students were not directly responsible.

Oromoni was finally laid to rest on Saturday at his family’s compound in Ogbe-Ijoh, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta, after a two-year struggle for justice.

He was born on December 4, 2009, and passed away on November 30, 2021.

The funeral was attended by various dignitaries, including human rights lawyer Chief Femi Falana, SAN.
