Miguel Ovoke, a four-year-old student at BrickHall Schools in Kaura district, Abuja, has sadly passed away.

According to a death certificate from Excel Specialist Hospital in Abuja dated April 24, 2024, young Ovoke was brought to the hospital by his teachers around 11 a.m. while unconscious.

The medical report, signed by Dr. Akinwande Ajayi on behalf of the medical director, stated that he was brought in due to choking on meat while eating at school.

After examining him, the medical team found that the boy’s pupils were fixed and dilated, with no response to light, as reported by Punch.

The parents of the deceased, suspecting foul play, have hired lawyer Deji Adeyanju to handle the case for them.

Meanwhile, there has been a public outcry over a video showing bullying at Lead British International School in Abuja.

On Monday night, a user named @moooyeeeee shared two videos showing a female student being slapped multiple times by another female student at a school. The user called for justice for the victim.

Following the identification of the bullied student and one of her bullies in the viral video, parents and human rights coordinators visited the school on Tuesday.

As a result, the school was temporarily closed for three days while the management pledged to conduct an investigation into the incident.
