Cole Palmer was instrumental in Chelsea’s 3-2 victory over Newcastle at Stamford Bridge, providing a goal and an assist.

The 21-year-old showcased his value to the team as Mauricio Pochettino‘s side narrowed the gap to the top seven with a crucial win.

Chelsea took an early lead, with Nicolas Jackson scoring in the sixth minute, tapping in Palmer’s shot after a poor clearance by Sven Botman.

Eddie Howe’s team lost Anthony Gordon to injury with 10 minutes left in the first half, but they finished strong when Alexander Isak scored a beautiful goal.

Palmer then scored his 11th goal of the season with a great shot from about 20 yards, and substitute Mykhaylo Mudryk added another impressive goal.

Jacob Murphy scored a powerful shot to make the end of the game tense, but Chelsea managed to hold on for a win. This victory brings them within one point of 10th-placed Newcastle and four points away from the top seven.
