The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has chosen a 38-year-old engineer named Omobayo Godwin as his new deputy, who is now preparing for inauguration.

This decision follows the removal of the previous deputy governor, Philip Shaibu, by the state’s House of Assembly on Monday.

The panel responsible for the impeachment of the former deputy governor stated that Shaibu was dismissed for disclosing confidential information about the state government.
