Everton, a Premier League club, has received a two-point deduction for breaking the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) of the Premier League.

In January, Everton was charged along with Nottingham Forest for breaking the PSR rules until the end of the 2022–23 season.

Nottingham Forest was given a four-point deduction and has appealed the decision.

Before the deduction, Everton was in 15th place in the Premier League, four points above the relegation zone.

Now, after the deduction, they have dropped to 16th place with 27 points, two points ahead of 18th-placed Luton.

Earlier in November, Everton was also penalized with a 10-point deduction for exceeding allowed losses by £19.5 million until the end of the 2021/22 season. This penalty was later reduced to six points after a successful appeal.
