Bandits Strike During Ramadan Prayers In Katsina, Kill Two

Some suspected bandits killed two people in Mairuwa village in the Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State during Ramadan prayer on Saturday.

The spokesperson for the Kastina State Police Command, Abubakar Aliyu, revealed this in a phone interview with PUNCH Online on Sunday.

Sadiq mentioned that the suspected bandits attacked the village, resulting in the deaths of two individuals based on initial investigations, and also kidnapped some residents during the prayers.

The abducted individuals were eventually rescued by police officers and other security agents.

“On March 23, 2024, at exactly 8:30 p.m., some suspected bandits attacked Mairuwa village during Ramadan prayers, They came there to kidnap, and as a result of that, they shot and killed two persons.

“They kidnapped a number of persons. Our men, in collaboration with community watch corps and vigilantes, engaged the bandits in a gun duel

“The security forces succeeded in repelling the attack, thereby rescuing all the kidnapped victims,” he said.

Sadiq mentioned that the command has started investigating the incident and is working to apprehend those responsible.
