APC Screening Committee Clears Aiyedatiwa For Ondo Governorship Primary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has approved all 16 aspirants who are vying for their ticket to run in the Ondo State Governorship election on November 20.

Allub Times learned that a screening committee of seven members, headed by Sen. Joshua Lidani, has given the green light to all aspirants to participate in the primary election scheduled for April 20.

A report submitted to the party’s Directorate of Organisation in Abuja on Saturday stated that the committee assessed factors such as eligibility, suitability, character, and support base when making their decision.

Among those cleared were the incumbent Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Isaac Kekemeke, former APC National Vice-Chairman (South West), Olusoji Ehinlanwo, a former member of the House of Assembly, Olugbenga Edema, and Sen. Jimoh Ibrahim.

Others are Mrs Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo, Akinfolarin Samuel, former Commissioner for Finance, Adewale Akinterinwa, Chief Olusola Oke, Ohunyeye Felix and Morayo Lebi.

Also cleared were Garvey Iyanjan; Prof. Francis Faduyile, Mrs Judith Omogoroye, Ifeoluwa Oyedele and Okunjimi John.

All aspirants demonstrated a willingness to support the aspirant who emerged as the party’s candidate for the November 2024 governorship election,” the report said.

The party’s leadership has been given the responsibility to guarantee that the primary election on April 20 is conducted in a manner that is free, fair, credible, and acceptable to all parties involved.
