Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the House of Representatives are calling for the immediate resignation of the party’s Acting National Chairman, Umar Ililya Damagum.

These party members have threatened to leave the PDP for another party if Damagum does not resign right away, as they believe he has been involved in activities that go against the party’s interests.

They are also demanding that Damagum be replaced by someone from the North Central region, as stated in the party’s constitution.

The demands were made by around 60 disgruntled members, led by Hon. Ugochinyere Ikenga, who spoke to reporters at the National Assembly on Monday.

Ikenga stated that the PDP Acting National Chairman has been participating in activities that are not in line with the party’s goals and has allegedly betrayed the party by aligning with the All Progressives Congress (APC) for personal gain.

Therefore, they are urging Damagun to step down before causing further harm to the party.
